     Lefkada island has a great advantage comparing with the other islands. It can be reached by car and not by ship, due to a moving bridge.

    The island has many beatiful , picturesque beaches. The crystal clear water makes them unique not only in Greece but also in whole Europe.The famous beach of 'Porto Katsiki' has been voted many times as the best beach in the Mediterranean sea. 

 The guests are astonished by the ravishing beaches, peninsulas, bays which are natural ports like Vlychou, Sivota, Rouda in the east of the island, Vassiliki in the south side, capes. Cape Lefkata outstands as according to an ancient myth the ancient poet Sappho committed suicide because of her desperate love to Phaona. 

 

The island is green-clad. The vegetation is rich, the valleys are fertile ,there are canyons and tablelands. There is remarkable flora with olive trees, cypress trees, a great variety of pine trees, a unique species of oak, sweet –smelling herbs and rare flowers.

From Nidri and Vasiliki ferry-boats operate daily trips to Meganisi, Cefalonia (Fiscardo) and Ithaca (Frikes). Also small tourist boats make excursions in the around islands (Scorpio, Meganisi etc) and the beaches.
